Sacred songs play a special role in our repertoire. The variety and mastery of ancient religious polyphonies is impressive. Here we find chivalric songs, Baroque pietas, troubadours' songs, songs for death-anniversary rituals and a vast number of uncodified folk songs. Polish music perfectly reflects the saying "For each village, a different song" the same piece appears in an infinite number of versions.
